Marc Ward is a seasoned Chief Scientific Officer with a rich background in plant design, startup, and scale-up to manufacturing within the regulated industries of Over-The-Counter pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. With over three decades of experience in the field, Marc has consistently demonstrated his expertise in Research and Development, FDA regulations, chemistry, consumer products, and cosmetics.

Marc’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Design Chemistry Labs in 2022, where he serves as CEO. Under his leadership, the company specializes in personal care, cosmetics, OTC topicals, and nutritional supplements, offering comprehensive formulation services through a full-service laboratory. Prior to this, Marc founded DZ Laboratories in 2008, a pioneering marketer of personal care products tailored for the bicycling industry. DZ Laboratories boasts a range of acclaimed brands such as dznuts chamois cream, dznuts bliss chamois cream for women, dznuts bald supersmooth shaving cream, and dznuts inheat embrocations.

Before his entrepreneurial ventures, Marc served as the CSO of Wasatch Product Development from 2000 to 2022. In this role, he oversaw the contract manufacturing of OTC pharmaceuticals, personal care products, liquid dietary supplements, and nutritional products. Wasatch Product Development was recognized for its FDA registration, cGMP inspection, and USDA approval, solidifying Marc’s reputation as a leader in regulatory compliance and product quality assurance.
